Eventually I created my own training routine. It goes like this:
- Get a rope with a hook ( http://www.ninjauniform.org/shop/ninja-grappling-hook/ )
- Find a strong tree
- Tie knots in the rope
- Carefully start climbing the rope without using your hands
- Repeat 4 times daily
I have found this has really helped my upper-body strength. At first I could only go up half way. But after a few weeks I was able to get all the way to the top. Now I do it 4 times every day (except weekends).
I also use ninja climbing claws to help with climbing wood walls in my yard.
I am sure ninja's probably did this kind of training!
