The V Neck TKD Uniform - Different Than the Karate Gi?

Here is a typical question I get from many new students parents. Is the karate gi different than the Taekwondo gi?

My answer is a definite yes! Not that one is better than the other but the karate uniform has a crossover top while the taekwondo uniform has a pull over v neck top.

Many parents who have had their other kids in a different program want to know if their kid can wear their brothers or sisters top. If it is from the same style they can but if they are from a different style it is best that the kids wear the same style as everyone else as the techqnues may require that they wear the correct top.

And to top it off the kids will not want to wear something different than everyone else. They will want to fit in. So do not make them wear a different uniform.

For an example of a tkd uniform:

Is The Ninja Realted to The Karateka?

Is the ninja a karate practitioner and are his techniques similar to traditional karate? Well that is an interesting question! In my opinion karate has some similar techniques to taijitsu (the unarmed version of martial art that the ninja used). Now is it exactly similar I do not think so, however they are related - slightly. But seeing how mainland karate (no the Okinawan types of karate) was used in Japan it is common sense that these two types of fighters may have crossed paths. The samurai use jiujitsu and many historians believe that the ninja were disenchanted samurai. Whether or not the were it stands to reason that the ninja would use or at least see many of the techniques the samurai use.

Now many historians believe that mainland Japanese karate came from the samurais juijitsu. So are karate and the ninja related in techniques - I think they are, even if it is slightly. I just do not see how the styles would not have crossed paths or at least been influenced by the other. When it comes to the ninja gear (see the different stuff here: http://www.realninjagear.com/ ) I think it is very different. And I do not see any relation to any other Japanese arts.

How to Tie a Karate Belt

This should help anyone who was not sure how to tie the karate belt following the first article I wrote.

Tieing The Karate Belt

This is a very interesting time both for you and your child if you've signed your child up for their very first karate or mixed martial-arts class. Nevertheless, for many parents whose children are registering for karate for the very first time, this is simply not only a thrilling experience but frequently a frustrating one as well. The reason being karate is a lot different than every other activity that many children get excited about and kiddies who simply take mixed martial-arts classes will have to wear a standard during their meets and during their education.

This standard is known as a gi and it includes a pair of jeans and a gown like top. Around their top is a belt. Many parents know that the belt is very essential and that it signifies a students rank inside the martial-arts program. The belt system starts with the white belt and may increase in color before black belt, which most parents know, may be the highest belt ranking. Most parents aren't aware of how you can help the youngster link these belts, while many parents are aware of what belts suggest. Because they may be likely to appear to class with their uniforms in position properly you also need to have the ability to help your son or daughter with their belt while your child's teacher can help you with tying these belts; like a parent. This is a guide to tying karate devices on kiddies.

1- Begin by holding it from the body and holding the belt at its mid-point.  You ought to be in a position to collapse the belt in two exactly.

2- Place the middle of the belt from the stomach of one's son or daughter, right below their navel.

3- Wrap the ends of the belt around their human anatomy. One conclusion should go clockwise and another should go counter clockwise. The belt ends must mix in the back and then wrap-around to the front of the meeting in the center near the navel.

4- Adjust the ends of one's child's belt to ensure they're roughly the same length.

5- Lay the left end of the belt flat against your child's stomach and move the right end under neath both levels of the belt, bringing the end up from below. When in position the right end of the belt must protrude out of the top edge of both layers of belt. Ensure that this conclusion is underneath both layers before continue.

6- Pull both ends of the belt firmly and tie the 2 ends of the belt in a know concentrated just beneath your child's navel.

This would have your child's karate belt put completely and securely so that they may appreciate their training using a belt and comfortably that will remain on the human anatomy as they move.
