Is The Ninja Realted to The Karateka?

Is the ninja a karate practitioner and are his techniques similar to traditional karate? Well that is an interesting question! In my opinion karate has some similar techniques to taijitsu (the unarmed version of martial art that the ninja used). Now is it exactly similar I do not think so, however they are related - slightly. But seeing how mainland karate (no the Okinawan types of karate) was used in Japan it is common sense that these two types of fighters may have crossed paths. The samurai use jiujitsu and many historians believe that the ninja were disenchanted samurai. Whether or not the were it stands to reason that the ninja would use or at least see many of the techniques the samurai use.

Now many historians believe that mainland Japanese karate came from the samurais juijitsu. So are karate and the ninja related in techniques - I think they are, even if it is slightly. I just do not see how the styles would not have crossed paths or at least been influenced by the other. When it comes to the ninja gear (see the different stuff here: http://www.realninjagear.com/ ) I think it is very different. And I do not see any relation to any other Japanese arts.
